Jamia Wilson, LCSW

Primary Therapist

Jamia is new to the Sunshine State, but is no stranger to the Southeast. Jamia was born and raised in Eastern Tennessee, and obtained both her Bachelor of Science in Social Work in addition to her Master of Social Work from the University of Tennessee. “Rocky Top”, will always remain close to her heart. Prior to moving to South Florida, Jamia spent five years in the Midlands of South Carolina.

Jamia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Tennessee, South Carolina and Florida.  Jamia is a certified supervisor for Licensed Master Social Workers in the state of South Carolina.

Jamia has worked in the field of social work for over ten years.  She started her career as a case manager for at risk families providing assessments, education and intervention for over three years. Jamia has worked in the acute care facilities for over five years providing initial assessments, individual,  group and family therapy.  Jamia has worked in the outpatient setting for over two years with dual diagnosis clients from the ages of latency to senior adult.

Jamia began working at Wellness Resource Center in June 2021 as a primary therapist. Her primary treatment focus is cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and solution focused counseling.
