Our Philosophy
It is our mission to provide the highest quality drug rehab services to individuals with a dual diagnosis. Patients come to us because we offer a comprehensive, holistic substance abuse treatment approach with proven results. Many of our patients have been on a merry-go-round of treatment since adolescence and have struggled with chronic relapse or previous failures in treatment. Most often, this is because the patient didn’t receive treatment for both their mental disorder and substance abuse problem.
Chemical dependency and psychiatric illness are progressive diseases with potentially devastating outcomes when left untreated. When these disorders are treated separately, the risk of relapse is high. And relapse in one condition ultimately results in the relapse of the other condition. When these disorders are treated simultaneously in an integrated dual diagnosis treatment program that teaches patients the symptoms of their conditions and strategies for managing those symptoms, clients are in the best position to attain a successful outcome.
We believe a structured environment with a consistent daily schedule helps stabilize patients who feel out of control in their lives. Individuals with dual diagnosis need the guidance and support of highly skilled, trained professionals who specialize in working with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders like depression, borderline personality disorder, and eating disorders. By treating both chemical dependency and mental health disorders in one program, our treatment staff can work together to understand the interplay between multiple illnesses and design an effective treatment plan.
For clients with dual diagnosis, lasting recovery depends on a multidisciplinary and multidimensional approach to treatment tailored to the specific needs of each individual. We offer a wide array of substance abuse treatment programs designed especially for individuals with dual diagnosis, including traditional clinical therapies such as group and individual psychotherapy and 12-step meetings, as well as life skills training, trauma resolution groups, expressive art therapy, spirituality groups and more. Our addiction treatment staff also provides lectures and educational presentations on recovery, chemical dependency education, addictive thinking, relapse prevention, and health and wellness issues.
A basic tenet of our dual diagnosis program is that healthy relationships are a cornerstone of addiction recovery. Research shows it is imperative that family members actively support the treatment and recovery process for individuals with dual diagnosis. Wellness Resource Center offers a safe, ego-supportive environment where healing can take place for the client, family, friends, and loved ones. At the same time family members reach out to support their loved one in recovery, we extend our services to a client’s family or significant other through education, therapy sessions, and family workshops.
