Who We Are

Wellness Resource Center is a private drug rehab program dedicated to the health and wellness of individuals suffering from addictive disorders with co-existing emotional, psychological, and/or psychiatric conditions. Wellness Resource Center is a preferred provider of the Ontario Health Insurance Plan. When clients are faced with dual diagnosis, each co-existing disorder must be treated simultaneously within an integrated model to achieve life-long recovery.

The level of care provided at Wellness Resource Center far exceeds any outpatient or transitional living programs due to the clinical services, transitional support, and supervision we provide. Our comprehensive treatment model provides a therapeutic and skills-building program for those who are at risk for failing in a more traditional drug rehab environment. For many clients, Wellness Resource Center provides a level of consistency and support that previous addiction treatment facilities have failed to provide.

We owe our success in large part to the wide variety of treatment programs we offer. Our drug treatment programs are designed especially for individuals with dual diagnosis, and include traditional therapies such as group and individual therapy, as well as life skills training, trauma resolution groups, expressive art therapy, spirituality groups, and more. In addition, all clients attend 12-step meetings in the community seven days a week.

Wellness Resource Center is more than a rehab center for people struggling with drug or alcohol addiction and co-occurring mental health issues. It’s also a place where men and women recovering from addiction come to learn how to live real life in sobriety. We blend structure and a consistent treatment schedule with a wide range of sober living activities and group outings. Through organized activities at the treatment center and in the community, we encourage clients to explore new interests and rediscover hobbies that were neglected due to drug and alcohol abuse.

We offer a variable length of stay, depending on each patient’s particular needs and the appropriate level of care. Upon admission, each client receives psychiatric and psychological evaluations and an assessment of any individual needs or interests. During the first week of addiction treatment, clients will meet with their primary therapist and receive a handbook with additional information about our dual diagnosis program. Clients immediately begin attending scheduled groups and also participate in an orientation to introduce them to program rules, regulations, and expectations.

Our clinical team is comprised of licensed mental health counselors, consultants, and master’s level therapists who come from all over the country to guide dual diagnosis patients into recovery. In a safe, nurturing environment, our treatment team encourages clients to confront addictive behaviors head-on by holding themselves accountable and learning strategies to cope with difficult emotions and experiences. With a clear understanding of our expectations and boundaries, our clients surrender to the recovery process and commit to getting well.

One of the salient features of the program at Wellness Resource Center is that treatment is very much a team effort.  This creates continuity and consistency, two of the primary requirements for achieving recovery. Part of what creates a unique setting for this recovery at Wellness is the patient’s understanding and trust in the team’s commitment. Each client receives frequent feedback from staff in order to outline upcoming goals and evaluate gains in recovery. In addition, staffing occurs weekly to discuss the client’s readiness for steps toward transitioning into a more independent environment, introducing only what liberties will set the client up for success.
